“2025 Informal Interactive Dialogue on Cooperation Between the United Nations Security Council and the League of Arab States”
September 25, 2025
Good morning,
Highnesses and Excellencies,
We will now begin the 4th Informal Interactive Dialogue between the UN Security Council and the League of Arab States.
I kindly ask the photographers and other members of the media to leave the conference room.
Highnesses and Excellencies,
Distinguished Representatives of the Security Council and the League of Arab States,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my honor, as President of the United Nations Security Council, to welcome you to this Informal Interactive Dialogue between the Security Council and the League of Arab States.
We gather at a time of grave urgency and shared responsibility.
Across the Arab region, protracted conflicts, humanitarian suffering, and persistent threats to peace and stability demand our collective attention.
These challenges transcend national borders.
Their impact ripple across the region and beyond, impacting international peace and security.
In this context,
today's Dialogue assumes particular significance.
It is a vital and distinctive platform for strategic coordination and mutual understanding.
It reflects our recognition that the complex crises facing the Arab world require concerted efforts – grounded in respect for sovereignty, adherence to international law, and the pursuit of lasting peace.
Let us seize this occasion not only to exchange views, but also to generate momentum for a stronger and more effective multilateral response.
I look forward to a constructive and forward-looking discussion.
